My Treatment Philosophy:
If you allow me the opportunity, I will guide you on a journey to feel purposeful, contentment, and confident. I aim to empower you but will also be realistic. It’s ok if you’re not felling ok. I understand that there will be days when it rains and days when it storms on the inside of our minds and bodies. In our work together, I hope to give you the tools to guide you through those days; the tools to help you feel prepared and confident to weather any storm. My priority is to provide you with a safe, non-judgmental space where you can be your authentic self while feeling validated and ultimately empowered to confront the challenges in your life. I am already proud that you have taken the step to find a therapist and I am honored that you are considering me. I will make it my priority to share and teach you the techniques and interventions to live the most peaceful life you deserve.
My Treatment Theories and Approaches:
I am experienced in Harm Reduction, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Group Therapy, Culturally Sensitive, Family Systems, Person-Centered, Psychoanalytic, Reality Therapy, Strength-Based, Structural Family Therapy, Trauma Focused, Play Therapy, and Crisis intervention.
What Therapy Looks Like in My Office:
I believe it is critical for my clients to find comfort and reassurance in our sessions. I do not want therapy to feel like a chore. I want you to see it as a positive and healing part of your day. I am working for you. It is my mission to make this time your time. You are in charge and should use our time together as you see fit. I will always take your lead.
Why I Became a Therapist:
As an undergraduate student, I witnessed many of my peers struggling with a myriad of issues – both big and small. Many were better able to manage their everyday lives through talk therapy – which I believe is crucial, especially in those emerging adulthood years. It was during this important time in my own life, that I started to identify a strong passion to help those in need of guidance and self-fulfillment. We all deserve a strong outlet to help ensure a happy and fulfilled life. It gives me a great sense of purpose to help build those supports.
My Life Outside Work:
Personal Life:
I moved to Virginia from New York, so the number one thing I do every day is stay connected to my family. I know what it’s like to have loved ones who live in a different part of the county. I grew up in an Italian-Puerto Rican household where I developed a passion for cooking. I enjoy practicing self care, cleaning, doing makeup, listening to music, spending time with friends, and working out.
