I’m Glad You’re Here

Finding a therapist can feel overwhelming, but you’ve already taken a powerful first step. I’m passionate about creating a space where you feel safe, heard, and supported as you work toward the life you want.

Who I Work With

Starting therapy can feel like a big step, and my goal is to make that process feel as comfortable and supportive as possible. I work with adults who are navigating challenges such as anxiety, depression, stress, grief and loss, and life transitions like divorce, career changes, academic pressures, and changes in relationships. Clients who often feel misunderstood, “difficult to read,” or “too sensitive” by others typically work well with me toward their goals. Whether you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or simply looking for a space to better understand yourself, I aim to provide a safe and supportive environment where you can talk openly and feel truly heard.

My Treatment Philosophy

My approach to therapy is warm, collaborative, and nonjudgmental. I believe that you are the expert in your own life, and I see my role as walking alongside you while we explore what’s been difficult and identify what might help you move forward. I use a person-centered, strengths-based approach and often incorporate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, along with mindfulness and grounding techniques, to help you better understand your thoughts, build healthy coping strategies, and feel more confident navigating life’s challenges.

How I Work

My approach is warm, affirming, and flexible. I’m trained in:

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
  • Motivational Interviewing
  • Person-centered, strengths-based therapy

I often incorporate mindfulness, grounding techniques, deep breathing, and relaxation exercises to support emotional regulation and self-awareness.

What to Expect in Sessions

Therapy with me is a space where you set the pace. I understand that opening up takes time, and I’ll never push you to share more than you’re ready for.

Whether you prefer in-person sessions in Richmond, VA, or telehealth, you’ll be met with compassion, respect, and curiosity. I welcome and affirm people of all backgrounds, cultures, identities, and beliefs—including those in the LGBTQIA+ and BIPOC communities.

Why I Became a Therapist

I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and my Master of Social Work from Virginia Commonwealth University and became a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in 2020. I have postgraduate training in trauma and grief and loss issues. In addition to outpatient therapy experience, my professional background includes working with complex populations to include: survivors of human trafficking, difficult to diagnose mood disorders and individuals living with serious mental illness

I strive to create a space where clients feel respected, supported, and empowered to grow. I am LGBTQIA+ and BIPOC affirming and am committed to providing inclusive, culturally responsive care for all individuals.

A Bit About Me Outside the Office

When I’m not seeing clients, I enjoy:

  • Reading novels
  • Exploring new coffee shops & restaurants
  • Day trips to the beach
  • Listening to music & taking walks by the river
  • Traveling and spending time with loved ones

I believe one of the most powerful tools we have in life is our voice. When we are silenced and not allowed the opportunity to express ourselves it can result in depression and anxiety. Over time it will impair our self-efficacy and value...

When one seeks out therapy, I believe they are saying that they want a change. Sometimes we need someone to listen and ask questions so that the processing of thoughts and feelings can be done in a nonjudgmental way. The answers come from within and I am just a guide along the healing journey.

I believe in the therapeutic process and consider it to consist of many forms. Each person is so unique and has their own story to tell in their own unique way and in their own time. The one thing I say to my clients in every first session, is, it starts with you. You choosing to show up to your appointment, you choosing to seek out support, encouragement, advice, a listening ear.
