My Treatment Philosophy: I have a deep commitment to helping my clients, believing that each person has unique experiences, struggles, and strengths. I do not believe there is a magic fix to our relationships and problems, and I do believe the challenges you are experiencing are real.  I see you as the expert in your life, and I want to honor who you are, and how you want to show up in the world.

Who I work with:

Clients seeking to enhance their relationships: facing challenges with family dynamics, personal and professional relationships, or struggling with their partner. Adults, young adults and adolescents seeking to feel more confident in themselves and the relationships they have.

I also work with high achieving professionals and overwhelmed parents (moms and dads), through pregnancy and postpartum. Anger, anxiety, and loneliness can show up in the most difficult ways after welcoming a new little one into your life. I want to help you feel emotionally and mentally better.

What therapy looks like in my office:

This is a partnership. I’m here with you to listen, validate, and shift through the hard feelings and experiences. We can have sessions that are more traditional in an office, or we can do a walk-and-talk session in a park close by the office.

 Why I became a counselor:

I have always had a deep passion for helping people. It probably started out in an unhealthy way-being a people pleaser.  But I came to this work honestly, through my own experiences with anxiety, imposter syndrome, trauma, trying to over achieve, and seeking true connection. I continue to work on my relationships and have enjoyed helping my clients with theirs. Being a social worker for over 10 years now, I have provided help in many ways, not always through therapy, but I find one-on-one sessions and direct connection to be a strong way in supporting my clients with healing.

My Treatment Theories:

My approach incorporates elements of cognitive-behavioral, strengths, acceptance, emotionally focused, positive psychology, experiential, adventure, and mindfulness therapy.

My Integrative Approaches to Helping Clients:

My approach incorporates elements of cognitive-behavioral techniques, strengths, acceptance, emotionally focused, positive psychology, experiential, adventure, and mindfulness therapy.

My Certificates and Trainings:

  • LMSW – July 2013
  • Certificate, Disaster Mental Health 2012
  • LCSW – Sept 2017
  • Supervisor – October 2020

Personal Life: I’m a wife, a mom, and a daughter. I love being active and lazy with my family. Reading a good fiction book-series is a guilty pleasure and sometimes an obsession. My family all loves traveling together and spending time in the water as much as we can.

If I weren’t a Counselor I’d be (and why): A painter, a dog walker, a party planner, a travel-resort critique, or a forever college student.

Hobbies, Interests, Passions: Reading, swimming, traveling, cooking and being creative.

Practice Highlights: In-person and online appointment, weekday appointments, and some weekend appointments. Walk-and-talk appointments with cooperating weather.

Psychotherapy is a kind of help in which the patient or client engages with a professional trained in the science and art of understanding and alleviating human suffering. As a Psychologist and psychotherapist, I stand in the belief that I don’t do anything “to” but rather “with” and “for” others – good therapy is collaborative - and that one must avoid a ‘one size fits all’ approach.

My role is to be side-by-side with you navigating these complex emotions and situations so that you can find the power in your voice, your body, and your strengths. My goal as a counselor is to create a positive, and reassuring environment where you can be you with all the quirks that uniquely make you – you. I believe that you are the expert of your experience, you have the answers inside of you, and we are together on this journey to unlock what is getting in your way. It is my hope to help you find strategies to interrupt patterns that are no longer serving you and create healthier paths to allow you to “be the change you wish to see.” If you choose to let me be a part of this journey with you, it will be an honor because I recognize it is hard to trust again when there have been letdowns.

I believe in the therapeutic process and consider it to consist of many forms. Each person is so unique and has their own story to tell in their own unique way and in their own time. The one thing I say to my clients in every first session, is, it starts with you. You choosing to show up to your appointment, you choosing to seek out support, encouragement, advice, a listening ear.
