Exercise for me is a way of life. My journey to living my passion as a trainer started off when I began running as a marathon runner for my high school team. I loved how exercise decreased my stress and released endorphins. I continued to play sports by joining the soccer team, running track and playing tennis.
When I joined the military in 2002, exercise became a part of my daily living. I enjoyed training with others that loved lifting weights, running and exercising. I received education on proper weight training and exercises from the Navy’s Fitness Team. After working hard, I became part of the Navy’s Fitness Trainers in 2009, helping those who needed to pass their weight standards. That experience ignited my passion to help others by training them on weight management, proper form, and exercises to meet their goals.
In 2010, after leaving the military and joining a local civilian gym in my community, I fell in love with group training and cycling. This allowed me to expand my horizons as I was able to practice exercising in different ways. In 2012, I started working in a local women’s gym. That’s when I realized I love teaching and learning various dynamics of the fitness industry. Receiving training from the best personal trainers and group trainers, led me to get certified in some of my immediate interests. I have experience teaching small group personal training, one- on-one training, body sculpting, aqua aerobics, boot camps and spinning classes. In 2013, I started a small group boot camp. Our workouts involved exercises to sculpt and maximize workouts by increasing the fat burning stages within in a 60 minute workout. I enjoy what I do and plan to continue to bring my passion and skills to Whole Journey members.
