Life can be difficult for anyone in any walk or phase of life. I help people learn to ground themselves and cope with difficult circumstances, whether that is a life change, a loss of identity, the feeling of losing control, Together we build strong bonds and then from that foundation, we will work together to identify and confront the underlying drivers of these issues in your life and develop a plan to empower you to overcome them.
I have always been a native of Virginia. I was born in Northern Virginia and migrated south just over a decade ago. I have lived my life in reverse to some extent as I came into this field quite organically early on and found that I had a passion for helping others, listening, and connecting empathetically on their level. I then solidified that experience with my education afterwards with a Bachelor’s degree in Human Services, and a Master’s degree in Social Work. My experience has fueled my education, and thus has provided me with the opportunity to work in a wide variety of environments, in many capacities, and with an array of people. These experiences have included schools, community agencies, therapeutic recreational programs, community-based services, nonprofit companies, and state agencies. I am a behavior Specialist, Clinician, prevention specialist, and case manager. My internships were with the Virginia Beach Department of Human Services, Encompass Adventure Based Counseling, and the Center for Child and Family Services in Hampton, Virginia.
